Incorrect template specification - part and template units don't match
Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
I hope someone can help me out.
I am using NX version 12 and I created custome drawing templates.
- I changed the drawing and sheet template .pax files
- Made sure the command line for UNITS said <Metric>
- Marked my template and saved it
- Made sure it was in the proper directory
- Made sure my model was completely designed in metric
But when I try to create a drawing with the template and metric designed model, I get the error "Incorrect template specification. The units of the part and the template do not match."
I've attached a few screen shots showing the error and the Id line I changed in the ugs-sheet and ugs-drawing .PAX files.
Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Faceted body display in graphics window (not in drafting view)
Both images are facet bodies. The first image is of a facet body as imported with Show Sharp Edges enabled in the STL Import dialog.
If I import a facet body with Show Sharp Edges turned off, the imported model looks like the image of the snipped model.

open part "CES-TEMPLATE_D.prt"
What are the units of THAT part? (Menu -> Info -> Parts -> Loaded parts)?
I'm guessing the template part is an inch part.
Merely saying "metric" in the PAX file does not change the actual part units...

NX 11 Tutorials
Hello,
Are there NX 11 tutorials provided by Siemens anywhere? I have looked, but haven't been able to find anything for download.

That I'm aware, there really aren't any (from Siemens).
YouTube for free tutorials (majority are probably not Siemens provided). If you're able to purchase, contact your Siemens CSR or Reseller to purchase a Learning Advantage license/access or CAST (Computer Aided Self Teaching - if it's still available). Both paid options from Siemens are self-paced.

NX11 Tutorial Files within Learning Advantage
Hello,
I have a new employee trying to work through some of the tutorials for NX on Learning Advantage, but the files for the tutorials seem to be from NX12. We are running NX11, which can't open these files.
Does anyone know if there are NX11 file versions anywhere?

Yes, we selected NX11 from the dropdown, found the "First day" course and clicked to download files, but it's saying the parts are from a newer version.

NX11 Tutorial Files
Hi all,
I have NX11 installed on my computer. I'm trying to use Siemens "Learning Advantage" to get up to speed with the program. The problem is the .prt files that are used for the tutorials are from NX12 or later. Does anyone know if there are .prt files stored anywhere for NX11 that I can use for the the Learning Advantage tutorials?

Worked fine for me on the first activity where it asked me to open a .prt file (Make a part’s thumbnail easy to recognize; file name was 120401.prt).
What specific version of NX11 are you running?

I'm using the exact same Native version of NX (native meaning no Teamcenter is running) and had no issues with any parts in the course you're describing. Never have had an issue with any Learning Advantage parts for almost 2 years. Feel free to watch the attached video of me opening the first NX11 part in the thumbnail activity mentioned above.
If you're positive you're not doing anything out of the ordinary (also make sure you're not in advertently launching an older version of NX if you're running more than 1 version) and have correctly downloaded & extracted the parts, I'd be calling GTAC or your reseller.

I also had no problem downloading and opening the NX 11 Learning Advantage files in NX 11.0.0.
I wonder if this is somehow browser related? Which browser were you using and do you have a different browser to try downloading the files again?
Also, the NX 11 files are dated 2016, NX 12 are 2018 and NX 1847 are 2019.

If you are out of TC, you can use the "convert part" utility to change the units.
But note that doesn't change any expressions, so it may not suit your needs....
(if you are in TC, you can export the named ref, convert it, then swap it back in)
I believe newer (NX1847+?) have a convert part utility that runs inside TC

NOTE:
In L.A., after selecting "NX", there is a drop menu to select the version - make sure to select NX11.
If you did that, then maybe they hosed the files up on the server (but I kind of doubt it)
