Auto balloon for nested assemblies in Nx drafting

Hello,

Community I have a quiry regarding auto ballooning in nx10 drafting for a tabular drawing. The problem is I am unable to create auto ballons for tabular part list which are nested assemblies. While I am trying to creat auto balloons after selecting part list it is not taking the view for which balloons to be created.Actually I created an attribute for each part for callout and in table I sorted as per this attribute. The system default callouts are deleted and I mentioned customer callout attribute.

So please kindly help through the issue.

Ok. Menu-Information-Object-Edge.

  • "Edge geometry= spline".
  • Does this mean the solid body from I-DEAS is corrupted ?

Hi  ,

Can you please attach part file, if possible or image?

I think the assemblies are set as precise but in AW in my user profile I read "precise, working". I dont know where it is setted and what the difference is.

View breaks in a section view with a hand drawn section line ?

Hello ( NX 11.0.2 )

Why can't I make View Breaks in a section view with a "hand drawn" sketch-based section line ?

  •  View Break doesn't let me select the view with sketch-based section line.

NX Nav.JPGNX Navigator

JT Nav.JPGJT Navigator

I have the items in Teamcenter with drawing numbers and the same is available in NX assembly navigator (ref attachment).
But when i export it as JT, drawing numbers are missing and i cannot found that column in JT2GO navigator.

Ciao  ,

in the same way:

menu>information>object>FACE

and analyze both faces that create the edge.

Ciao

Hi  ,

This issue is not specific to sketched section line. View Breaks are not supported for Section View types except Simple/Stepped type. The reason is for folded section view the actual length is not reflected in Section View since it is projected view type.

Any way to add View breaks to the section F-F ?

Hi  ,

Do you feel that it should be posted to JT2Go forum?  If yes, I can move the post. I believe that is the right forum for this question.

You might need to carry these numbers using Note/Label or some other means.

Hi

for the first problem I can't make a video, the client has not given me permission.

Anyway with huge models whit a lot of radius and surface when I select polisurface the workstation take more second to analyze the polysurfaces and give me information about areas , volume etc...

for second problem (more click) you see the video attached, if you have already selected point or object you have 3 clicks instad 2 but if in a previous measure you have selected something different you must to do 4 clicks (1 for chose object option, 1 for chose the object, 1 for switch to point selection, 1 for select point).

making these videos I discovered another problem, in this case the new command don't give me an answer about area, I don't know why. but the new command don't work and the old yes.

And excuse me but normally I know which measure I need before select objects....

Hi  ,

"NX cannot restore the assembly structure from a monolithic JT."

Is this intended ? Do you know if there are some existing ERs about this point ?

Best regards,

Frédéric.

, please find my above edited reply. There is already ER which asks View Break support for Revolved or Half section view.

No it does not mean that your model is corrupted.
It,only, means that this edge which looks like an arc is described mathematically by a "spline equation" and not a circular equation.
In the cad math world , a cad system can use different equations for different objects, such as circles, lines, ellipses , splines etc. A line described by a line equation is per the definition an exact object. A spline needs most often some form of approximation tolerance to be able to adapt to whatever shape given. Because of the splines ability to adapt to almost any shape, the equation is "general" and it contains a tolerance.
It is difficult to enhance given data , i.e if you project a spline, it is by math difficult to produce an arc, which is the "better math". ( in this case "better" means simpler and less data required.)

Some systems will always use Nurbs ( splines) no matter the shape. I think I-deas was might have been one of these.

Tomas

NX error "Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342)"

Hello, anyone can help me.

My customer have a problem cannot returned license to the server and got an message "Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342)".

Customer using NX with a floating network license. There had NX 7 licenses including the module NX13100 x3, NX13200 x2, SC12500 x1 and SC13500 x1.

Customer environment:
 - Server: Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise (Virtual VM)
 - Antivirus (Server and Client): Symantic Endpoint Protection
 - Server: license manager version: v11.15.0.0 build 215548 x64
 - Server: In services.msc, make the SPLM service as automatic instead of delayed start.
 - Server and Client: Turn OFF the UAC from control panel>>user accounts.
 - Server: Turn OFF the windows firewall
 - Server: Turn ON the antivirus and add the 3 exceptions for Antivirus, 1) LMTools.exe 2) lmgrd.exe 3) ugslmd.exe
 - Client: NX11.0.2 mp11

Procedure testing:

1. User-A opened NX using module SC12500 and then exit program. Then I checked server log from lmtools, the licenses no returned to the server.

2. User-B opened NX using same module as SC12500 and got message error "Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342)"

3. Reset the NX license from server, then all license returned to the server.

So if first user opened NX and exit NX program, the licenses still not returned to the server.

Status from NX log after exit NX program:

12:19:41 (ugslmd) OUT: "SC12500" te000481@USER-A
12:19:41 (ugslmd) OUT: "SC12500_gateway" te000481@USER-A
12:22:00 (ugslmd) UNSUPPORTED: "gateway" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS   ) te000481@USER-A (License server system does not support this feature. (-18,327))
12:24:22 (ugslmd) DENIED: "SC12500" TE000481@USER-B  (Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342))
12:24:22 (ugslmd) DENIED: "SC12500_gateway" TE000481@USER-B (Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342))
12:24:22 (ugslmd) UNSUPPORTED: "gateway" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS   ) TE000481@USER-B (License server system does not support this feature. (-18,327))

Hi

You need to edit the ''tessUG.config" file and then export JT from NX. With some additional steps in the JT2Go, It is possible to show specific attribue column

  • Edit "tessUG.config" file and change attribute value of "getAttributes"to "true" and save it
    (e.g. C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 10.0\PVTRANS\tessUG.config)
  • Export JT from NX
  • Open JT file in the JT2GO
  • Select any component that has atrribute > RMB > Properties.
  • Under 'Attributes; tab, Select desired attribute and click on button 'Add As Column', OK

Now the respective column will be shown in the ANT of JT2GO.

Here's a different approach using 's suggestion of Center Mark along with Ordinate Dimensions (since that's what your dimensions appear to represent) and finally adding the Datums using the Gap parameter to accomodate the Ordinate Origin dimension.

Feature Pattern problem

I've noticed this with general patterns, and linear patterns.  With general patterns i was using a sketch to define the hole positions, so the "sketch" part of the information message kind of made sense.  Usually I would just reselect the hole positions that had the "issue", and after one or two tries, the information warning would go away.

In this case, it's a linear pattern, and it does not run off the part, yet the last hole gives me the "Sketch becomes underconstrained due to the edit" message.  First, what edit?  I just created it.  And second, what sketch?  There is no option to make an internal sketch external, and I didn't use an external sketch.

Odd thing too, I've done this a couple times, and the number of holes with the "issue", can vary, and I haven't found a pattern to repeat, or predict it.

Thoughts?
