Depending on TC setup, if someone has "dba" with "bypass", they can probably re-save the part family members, even if released.
But I would strongly suggest you create a new revision anyhow, as you ARE changing the parts.

Hi Rob,
As suggested already GTAC will be the right option for you. In the mean time can you run an examine geometry check also... Also if your part has no more parametric features ...just copy it and paste it in another file and try saving the new part (or you can use EXPORT as part file ).

Hi Everyone interested in this thread.
There is currently a new update out on the SPLM doc server. Version 2.1.
And the feature discussed here before, is now working. You can change the language by adding the Local in the URL.
Default examples:
It used to be:
http://localhost:8282/tdoc/nx/10/nx_help#uid:index
Now you can use:
http://localhost:8282/tdoc/en_US/nx/10/nx_help#uid:index and it will show up in English
Or
http://localhost:8282/tdoc/de_DE/nx/10/nx_help#uid:index and it will show up in German,
No matter what language setting you have in your browser.
Do note, that the URL and port number to your local or online doc server may vary.
Hope this helps some of you.
Kind regards,
Dennis
The component is completely constrained in the sub-assembly, to parts that are in the same sub-assembly. But when I open the upper level assembly, the component is out of position in the sub-assembly.
I looked at the Position column in Assembly Navigator and it says that the constraints have an "implicit override". I think that if I figure out how to get rid of the implicit override, it might work.
An implicit override is always related to an explicit override. You must have overridden another component form the same subassembly. When you override a component, components that are constrained to the component you override also get overridden (implicitly).
Press the right mouse button on the component with the override and remove the override. The option is on the context menu and that will remove the implicit override of the other component.
You can also remove the constraints between the explicit and the implicit overridden components. You probably see constraints with an up arrow in the assembly part. Those are copied up from the subassembly.
With this you should now have enough clues now to sort it out. You can refer to documentation for more details.

Thank you. It worked.
I did some quick testing yesterday and found that no matter whether I define the folder in the customer defaults or use the library management to define the folder on the O/S, I was not able to use "Define Reusable Object" (it was greyed out) for any folder on the O/S when in managed mode.
Also, in managed mode, having manually assigned an O/S folder to the Reuse Library and checked "Available in Teamcenter", adding a part from that folder reports: "Cannot add component from the Native NX to the Teamcenter Integration". Therefore I suspect the ability to write to the O/S, from a managed session, using this functionality does not currently exist.
As you've already established, if I define a folder that exists in Teamcenter then Define Reusable Object is available.

Hello
How to save my own custom scales (like 1/3) so they always appear in selection box ?
create your part. and the start "Menu>Tools>define defromable part"
save the part.
Add the part twice in an assembly
right click the component and choose "deform"
for each component you can enter different lenghts/angles (depending what you defined before) althought it is the same part
Hi everyone !
I can not delete sheet in NX draft. When I try to do it some error appear (pls check attachment):
"Internal error: Access to memory violation"- it is my translation from polish
Hi - ciao,
I want to try this new features in NX11.
I follow the help but I stop when there is to define the Secondary Geometry in the view.
I cannot find the corresponding Secondary Geometry node in the view Setting.
Thanks
Anyone have success running the Astroid 6000 with NX10?
I am getting these .dll errors when laucnhing NX and then have no addin.
I find in NX, creating Assembly constrains are optional, where as in other system it’s the first step to insert components.
Adjusting from a with fully constrained/defined mating conditions components CAD system to a placing components in undefined space is still difficult for me to be comfortable with. I assume that is how NX supports to build Large assemblies, where system resources are not used to control mating conditions. Components sit in dumb locations until you move them. So, users are not bothered to create Assembly constrains. They just drag and move components as needed with continuously revising the assembly without utilising an intelligent parametric behaviour between components.
Due to less popularity of Assembly constrains in NX, I think they are comparatively very much underdeveloped. Limit mates in NX, just came to light.
Hello,
I had attempted earlier to find an intersection of two edges or of an edge and a plane while in modeling mode. I'm now working in a drawing and attempting to set up an ordinate dimensioning origin at the intersection of two edges (please refer to attached file.) Unfortunately, NX can't seem to find an intersection. Is it possible that I have a setting wrong or am basically just doing something wrong? I can find the origin in a similar view, but I can't find the intersection point in this view. Thanks
Have you tried a Part Cleanup? If not, make sure you check the option for "Clean Drafting Objects".
If you continue to get the error, please consider contacting GTAC.

Hi
You cannot edit this list. Enhancement Request ER 1622378 has already been submitted asking for the ability to edit the list of scales.

I reviewed a similar question that I had last September and 'frank_nx" had replied then. I found the "two-curve intersection" and was eventually able to get it to work. What I don't understand is why will I be able to select the edges as shown in my initial post and sometimes it will work; but then I can go to another view on the same drawing sheet and I can't find the intersection. I had to switch from the "intersection" method to the "two-curve intersection" method. I'm trying to follow the same exact steps and one time it will work, but then next time it won't.
Hi
You need to enable Second Geometry in your Drafting Preferences prior to adding your views. Once the view has been added you can edit it's Second Geometry Settings.
