Thank you Dave for your suggestion, but that moduls are unexplored parts of NX by my side I must tell.

Re: Select NX version default for Teamcenter
Hi
Were both installations using the same language?
We have a Problem Report (PR) still being investigated (PR 9099549) which reports similar behavior to what you have described (nothing happens when 2nd dataset is double-clicked). This could only be reproduced with UTF-8 (non-English) data. It appears that a workaround might be to select the Start/Open in NX icon.
Consider opening an Incident Report with your local GTAC office and have them compare your NX and Tc logs with those already submitted with the PR to see if you are experiencing the same issue. They can then have you notified when the issue is fixed, otherwise they can open a new PR for you.

Re: Easier ug_convert_part
Frank,
Thank you for this upload, can you provide the source code so that those that want to can update for NX12 on their own?

There are two types of icon for Studio Surface.
Re: Reference-Only components
All of the above mentioned attributes are set to the default <no value>. I have tried changing them but nothing happens.
Basically, I want a component on my drawing file to not be displayed as reference only so that I may use the replace component command on it.
I find this very frustrating when cloning an assembly with its drawing, that I can't simply replace the original components on my drawing with the newly cloned ones I have made some changes to. I have to delete the views and place new ones and then dimension everything again.
Re: Select NX version default for Teamcenter
Hello Ben,
I installed the programs and OS in spanish. I have tested changing language but the behavior doesnt change, I guess changing language only change visualized text. Opening NX is not a problem, it can be done by the NX icon or by doubleclicking the dataset, just the second dataset wont be opened. In other computer with a new installation (OS, TC and NX) it is worked fine with the same languages (spanish).
I will try in other computer and send all information to support.
Re: Symmetry wave linking
Thank you
Re: Symmetry wave linking
Yes, it requires license to use WAVE mode. I missed to mention that.
Re: Product interface
This is shown as a part setting. So if it is not working I guess it is because our template is customized for product interface not working with no interface objetcs. How can I check/change it?
How to change the threaded lookup tables in NX11
Hi all,
I'm having some issues with the lookup tables in the thread feature. Specifically the standard thread sizes I'm able to select are all in english units; NX is using the values in the thd_english file rather than those in the thd_metric file. I've tried simply editing the thd_english file and inserting the metric values, however the entire file uses inch units, so this doesn't work. All units used elsewhere are in mm, this is the only case I've found where this issue occurs.
How would I go about changing the file that NX uses for the standard tables? I've had a sniff around in preferences, part properties, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Many thanks,
Hugo
Re: How to change the threaded lookup tables in NX11
Are you using a custom start script to set your envirnment? If yes, check if the varibale UGII_METRIC_THREADS is pointing to the correct location where thd_metric.dat is stored.

Hi
1. Making the shorter curve string in 3 pieces:
2. Adding an internal control courve:
Thanks!
Re: Hole dimension call out with tolerance in one click
In your drafting standards , change the Tolerance Types to Limits and Fits instead of No Tolerance
and set your default tolerances in customer defaults
This will however display these values even when placing horizontal or vertical dimensions...
My advice is to simply set the default fits and manually turn the tolerance on for desired dimensions... Just two clicks more.
Re: How to change the threaded lookup tables in NX11
How are you making the threaded feature?
(specific menu/dialog picks)
Note there are a 2nd set of thread data in \...\UGII\modeling_standards\*
Depending on how you add threads, you may be selecting from those files.
Re: How to change the threaded lookup tables in NX11
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I did change environment variables to access the GC Toolkit. I should have mentioned I was able to use the metric table prior to this.
Both UGII_ENGLISH_THREADS and UGII_METRIC_THREADS are ponting to the corresponding file directories for the lookup tables. Is there a way to change which table is the preferential choice, from english to metric?

As
However, now that you mention the GC Toolkit, I remember someone mention that after installing it, he could no longer use metric threads... The discussion is posted somewhere on the community not so long ago, try and find it and see if a solution exists.
Re: How to change the threaded lookup tables in NX11
Ah here it is https://community.plm.automation.siemens.com/t5/NX-Design-Forum/Metric-thred-form-missed-after-apply-GC-Toolkit-solid-parts/m-p/474586, but no one has answered the call
Why are you extruding holes and using thread? Isn't it simpler to use the Hole command and selecting threaded hole?
Re: NX 11 Reuse Sketch
Hello Ken,
thank you very much for your answer. I had to do work for another project, so I couldn’t answer you earlier…..
Meanwhile I had time to try out your solution but I still have problems to manage the issue. Here a few additional information to my project: I have to create a railway tunnel model with two axes (wich lead to one tunnel later) in which I would like to insert the cross section of the cut-and-cover-tunnel (rectangle cross-section) along the axes (pathes) one time each. When I add another a line or similar I would like to have them automatically in all sketches.
So according to your solution I created a part-file with the sketch of a cross-section in and attached it to a path (a “dummy line”). This sketch I assembled two times in the other part with assembly constraints, wave linked it and tried to create an extrusion with the command “Swept” and “Variational Sweep”. But it didn't work and I had to create another Sketch, in wich I projected the lines of the cross-section-sketch. If I don’t do this I can’t create the Extrusions. Here NX shows alerts:
Swept: “Unable to create single curve from a profile having multiple loops.”
Variational Sweep: “The section containes one or more curves outside a single sketch on path. Select curves from one sketch on path for the entire section.”
With the Sketch with the projected lines I can do the Sweep with "swept".
So my problem is just solved partly, because when I add lines to the cross-section-part they will be in the assembled sketches, too. But I have to project them additionally into the sketch, which I sweep at long last.
Have I done it like you suggested or do I have to do something different...?
I hope you can help me further another time.
Thanks in advance!
Carsten

Supplement to my answer:
1. With "swept" I don't have to make the sketch with the projected lines but i can't create a Body with a hole (see text of the alert above).
2. When I use the command "Sweep along guide" it seems to work without alerts.
Re: How to change the threaded lookup tables in NX11
Ah, **bleep**.
Yes, as you say I can just edit the hole and make it threaded, however for future components, external threads etc, I'm not sure of another way of producing those.
I'm not sure what else to try, changing the file directory for the UGII_ENGLISH_THREADS to the location of the metric doesnt work either.
Where does this submenu exist?
Thanks
